The Links to be Analyzed
In my analysis on the following page, I will be analyzing the use of homophony, polphony, harmony, and declamation in Renaissance Music and Korean Pop.
Definitions:
Homophony: Music written to be played or sung in unison; usually melody with accompaniment
Polyphony: When each voice has a separate but equally important melody (the melodies are sung or played in unison)
Harmony: The practice of using the voices or notes deliberately to create chords
Declamation: Words of a song are sung with rhythmic and melodic values that approximate how they would be spoken in normal speech
Canon: A form of imitative polyphony where the same melody appears in each voice in successive intervals
